Harborne Primary School
Head Teacher's Welcome
Welcome to Harborne Primary School
It is my great privilege to welcome you to Harborne Primary School. As Headteacher since May 2025, I am immensely proud to lead our vibrant, ambitious and diverse four‑form‑entry school, uniquely split across two sites in the heart of Harborne, Birmingham. Every day, I am reminded of the strength of our community, the richness of our pupils’ experiences, and the unwavering commitment of our staff.
Harborne Primary School serves a wonderfully diverse community. The children and families who make up our school family come from all around the globe, providing our pupils with a rich understanding of the wider world and a deep appreciation of difference. Equity of provision for all is central to our ethos; every child, regardless of background, starting point or need, deserves access to exceptional teaching, meaningful opportunities and high‑quality pastoral support. This principle guides every decision we make.
I am delighted that Harborne Primary School is part of The Elliot Foundation Academies Trust. This marks an exciting new chapter for our school. Working collaboratively with local and national schools across the trust enhances our capacity for innovation, professional development and school improvement. The opportunity to share expertise, strengthen leadership and deepen our curriculum, benefits every pupil and every member of staff.
My passion for education stems from the exhilarating feeling I get when motivating and enthusing pupils, colleagues and parents towards achieving their personal goals—especially when those outcomes have positive, life‑changing effects for all involved.
Our school motto, Happy Pupils Succeed, captures this perfectly. When children feel safe, valued and inspired, they thrive. This belief is embedded across our curriculum, our inclusive practice, our safeguarding culture, our teaching and learning, and our pastoral care. Happiness is not a soft aspiration; it is the foundation of academic excellence, personal growth and long‑term success.
Over the last sixteen months, Harborne Primary School has undergone significant positive change. The depth of expertise within our senior leadership team, combined with the steadfast commitment of our teachers and support staff, has driven improvements in curriculum design, inclusion, behaviour, safeguarding, assessment and early years provision. I am incredibly proud of our staff, who work tirelessly to create a caring, nurturing and aspirational environment in which every child is known, supported and challenged.
Harborne Primary School is a community built on warmth, ambition and shared purpose. I warmly invite prospective parents to come and visit our school, meet our wonderful pupils and staff, and experience first‑hand the welcoming atmosphere that defines us. Seeing our school in action is the best way to understand what makes Harborne Primary so special.
I look forward to welcoming you soon.
Kind regards
Mrs Francis
